They call Maine “Vacationland”.

And although there’s plenty of alluring entertainment to be had in the major cities like Portland, there’s a good chance that a majority of your time here will be spent outdoors.

Hiking is an integrated part of the Maine lifestyle, and that’s probably because the weather allows for it nearly all year and there are a countless number of trails to choose from across the state. So many, in fact, that you could probably spend an entire year hiking here and never hit the same one twice.

Maine has been my home for quite some time now, and with this, I have gained a personal experience of some of the best hikes to be had.

So if vacationland is calling your name, or if you already live in Maine and want to learn more about what this beautiful state has to offer in terms of hiking, I am going to share with you some of my knowledge and some of my favorite hikes so that you can spend less time on Google and more time in the woods!

Acadia National Park

If you’re going to Maine in search of adventure, then Acadia should surely make your bucket list.

It’s one of the biggest, baddest, and most beautiful spots in Maine. The hikes are incredible, there’s a ton of trails to choose from, and the town itself is full of good bites and nice, mellow cafes for you to check out after your legs are done in from the day.
